hidden gem

Whenever a friend comes to town, I usually show them the same over-touristed areas... this one, was a hidden gem, a boat ride on the lake... Welcome to Hawaii.

Heading North

Heading North on a beautiful Hawaiian day to dip our toes into the ocean, smell that salty air, and feel that warm aloha spirit.

The sand in Lani Kai is so fine that when it sticks to you, you feel like a powdered doughnut.  And I was a little worried that it'd sneak its way into my camera but it didn't and it was well worth hanging out on the beach for the sunset and digging my toes into.

Katch 1

A Katch 1 tag on a street sign in Manoa.  I took a look at his book about a month ago and realized how little of his work I have seen.  The guy is on fire.  His work is so rad it makes me want to start drawing again... Nothing like a little inspiration from another artist to make you want to boost your potential.

Slap me

Someone slap me when I say I'm tired of rainbows.  Seriously.  I'm not joking.  Sun AND rain.

sunset

cheery blossoms

A little cheer to spread around from a wedding in West Oahu

a humble moment

The point of this blog is really just to remind myself how lucky I am to live where I do and to try to appreciate the little moments that often pass me by, like this one.  This was taken one sunny day on the way out to the sandbar.

swing life away

I want to sit here and smell that salty air while that intoxicating Hawaiian breeze rummages through my hair.   I love Hawaii.

baaaaaaaa

On this solo trip to Big Island I felt completely comfortable to pull over whenever I wanted.  From a flower petal to a weird looking road and to these sheep.  And on this endless field of green I had to sneak a shot of them grazing, lookin' all furry and cute.

cloudy with a chance of rain

The mountain tops of Hawaii are usually always dusted with clouds but that's what makes them so green and lush.  I'm dying to get to master the Stairway to Heaven hike and see for myself what it feels like to be on top of the Pacific.

Dear Earth...

I promise, Earth, I will not litter, I will conserve, I will recycle even when it's not convenient, I will be conscious of you, I will treat you like my best friend, not only cause you're super rad, but because you're beauty astounds me to no end in even the littlest things.

Why do old vehicles with rust on them drive me wild.

Organic, healthy, and sold locally, really, what get better than that?

La Pietra

Who knew this school, La Pietra school for girls, was even in Honolulu never mind gracing the bottom of Diamond Head.  The school itself is more than just charming, it's beauty reminds you of something from Europe.  Hawaii, once again you amaze me.

These photos are from a Tori Richard shoot that I assisted.

bougainvellia

Only slightly colored tips of white bougainvillea.  Although this flower isn't too fragrant, it's paper-like petals remind me of something sweet and delicate...and special.

hey pineapple

Every time I pass by the Dole Plantation I truly want a pineapple.   No matter how many times it happens in a day I crave a crisp, sweet, pineapple slice to accompany those hot salty days to the north shore.
